Top 5 Foundations

I loveeee foundation, however I must be the fussiest person ever when it comes to finding the one that ticks all the boxes for me. It has to be long lasting, the right coverage and has a dewy finish. Over the past few years I have tried a ridiculous amount of foundation, it's not normal, and found some that I think are brilliant but others that I wouldn't dare use twice. I found it quite hard to pick my top 5 foundations, but I am going to share them with you and these are the ones that I love and that suit my skin type best. My skin type is dry-combination.

Mac Face and Body: This is a foundation that I have recently rediscovered from when I was clearing out my makeup. The formula of this is incredibly thin and is a water based foundation, I can't really describe It's texture but It feels kind of sticky when not fully blended in. I like to apply this with a Zoeva 102 silk finish brush and then use the buffing brush to buff it into my skin.

YSL Le Teint Touche Éclat: This is my summer foundation it is incredibly light and feels so weightless on my skin and is great as it contains SPF 19, so perfect for the summer. Just like the Touche Éclat highlighter pen it is very illuminating and I seem to apply this with my fingers and it blends in really well.

Nars Sheer Glow: I have been using this foundation for around a year now and have gone through so many bottles, shows how much I love it. I honestly wear this foundation day in day out and what I love is that a little, really does go a long way. It gives a medium coverage and gives more of a glowy finish to the skin, but not too glowy to the point where you are glistening. Is glowy even a word?...

Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua: This foundation is great It has more of a light coverage however it is buildable but I love the light feeling it gives to my face, it isn't heavy or cakey on the skin. The Vitalumeire aqua is a water based foundation that is suitable for all skin types, it gives such a flawless finish. Oh and I also love the packaging.

Rimmel Match Perfection: This was such a lucky pick of mine, considering I am so fussy when choosing foundation. This was one of the first foundations that I ever bought and I always go back to this one. I find this foundation very similar to Nars Sheer Glow its a medium coverage and gives a satiny finish and is so easy to apply onto the skin with either a brush or using your fingers.

What is your favourite foundation, have you tried any of these?

My trip to Devon

The weather in England has been lovely the past couple of days, well where I have been anyway. My family and I decided to visit our favourite place in Devon for a few days, Salcombe, which is my favourite place to spend time. I have been visiting there for as long as I can remember so it was really nice to spend a few days there with my family. There isn't really much more to say so here are some pictures that I wanted to share from the trip.

Have you been or been doing anything nice this past week?

Highlighters I Love

Recently I have become obsessed with highlighters. What I love about highlighters is that they're such universal products that can be used to highlight so many areas of the face, as well as being used to contour and can be used as an eyeshadow or eyeshadow base. They are such beautiful products and here are some of my favourites.

From left-right: YSL Touche Éclat, Benefit High Beam, Topshop Glow Stick,
Topshop Highlighter (Crescent Moon) and Diorshow Mono (Bikini)

YSL Touche ÉclatThis has been my go to product for the past year or so now and I can't imagine my life without it as it really brightens the face, making me feel super awake. This product can be used as both a concealer and highlighter and even though it is fairly pricey at £25.00 per pen it is worth it as it is so universal. It really works for brightening under the eyes, highlighting the brow bone and as an eyeshadow primer, just one click does the job.

Benefit High Beam, This liquid highlighter can be used to highlight the cheek and brow bones. It is so easy to apply, dotting on the areas of your face and then blend using the tips of your fingers giving a satiny finish. I love using this product throughout winter time, however in summer when I have a tan I tend to use Sun Beam which is extremely similar to this product but is a golden bronze colour.

Topshop Glow Stick, This is a fairly recent buy of mine which I adore. The Glow Stick is in the colour Play Up and is extremely similar to Benefits Watts Up highlighter. It is a golden colour cream highlighter which is rather pigmented so only a minimal amount is needed, it is a twist up stick and I can see this lasting me ages.

Topshop Highlighter (Crescent Moon), This highlighter is in powder form and is seriously pigmented. Very little of this product is needed and when it is applied correctly it looks gorgeous. Not only can you use this product to highlight your cheek and brow bones, It doubles up as an eyeshadow. I use a real techniques setting brush to apply this.

Diorshow Mono (Bikini), This product is in fact an eyeshadow, but looks beautiful when applied as a highlighter. I discovered this product when going into Dior last year asking for a pink toned highlighter and being advised to buy this. I am so glad I purchased this as it is my all time favourite highlighter. The compact comes with two eyeshadow brushes however I prefer to use a Mac 138 Tapered Face Brush to apply.

Have you tried any highlighters, if so what are your favourite?

The Must Have Tanning Product

This is genius. After years of hunting for a facial tanning product that ticked all the boxes, I am more than certain that I've found it. No streaks or orange mess just a natural sun kissed tan.

This is Clarins new tanning product 'Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster'. What differentiates this from every other tanning product on the market is that it's a concentrated elixir that you simply add to your daily moisturiser and then apply, how easy could it get?. What's so great about this is that it enables you to decide the extent of your tan with it being a made to measure product.
I have discovered to get that 'golden glow' look,  I add 2 or 3 drops of this to my moisturiser every other night which guarantees that I wake up with that summer glow complexion. It couldn't be any easier.

My MAC Eyeshadow Palette

I have always been fond of MAC eyeshadows and decided that it was finally time to build up a palette full of my favourites. It has taken me quite some time to fill this palette but I am so happy that it is now complete. I have used a MAC Pro Palette x15 and filled with the Eyeshadow pro palette refill pan.

Colours from left-right: Vanilla, Omega, Charcoal Brown, Naked Lunch, All That Glitters, Satin Taupe, Sable, Woodwinked, Patina, Phloof, Wedge, Honesty, Sumptuos Olive, Sketch, Twinks.

The majority of the colours I have chosen are neutrals with cream and brown tones to them which are perfect for every occasion. What I love about MAC Eyeshadows is that they are all so highly pigmented so last forever, as well as there being endless colours to choose from. The Eyeshadows are super blendable which is why I love them so much, as I am more than likely wearing two colours at once which I love to blend with a 217 blending brush.

'Tanya Burr' Lip Glosses

I have been meaning to do this blog post for quite a while now, however I seem to keep buying more and more of the Tanya Burr Lip Glosses as I love the range of colours and never know which ones to try next.

Tanya Burr Lip Glosses £6.99 at Feel Unique

I hardly ever used to wear Lip Gloss, with me almost everyday wearing Lipstick especially dark colours (mainly red). However I have been a lover of Tanya Burr for nearly two years now so I couldnt resist from trying her new range of products. I chose to experiment and even though I did go for two of the darker colours, Lets Travel The World and Vampire Kiss, I also chose a few pinky toned glosses.

Not only do they smell like strawberries but they are incredibly long lasting especially the darker coloured glosses which in fact remind me of the Rimmel Apocalips which seem to last all day from their high pigmentation.

I rarely wear nude/pink shades on my lips and tend to draw more towards darker colours. However I have taken a real liking to both Aurora and Afternoon Tea, they are both stunning colours and can be worn daily as part of an everyday look. My personal favourite is Exotic Island which off the lips looks fairly bright, however it's one of the creamier glosses that I can see myself wearing constantly throughout the summer time.

Have you tried any products from the 'Tanya Burr' range?
